Difference between micro DC motor with carbon brush (brush DC motor) and micro DC motor without carbon brush (brushless DC motor)

DC motor with carbon brush is composed of shell embedding with magnet, rotor with commutator. It has 3 poles, 5 poles, 7 poles, 10 poles and 12 poles etc. China common model are 390,540, 550, 555, 775, 895 etc.
1. Its merits is simple control, 2 wires input, exchange them, the rotation in CCW, voltage increase brings faster speed, bigger torque.
2. It takes mechanical commutator, in high speed run, easier wear out, and generates fire sparkle, therefore demerits are noise, electromagnetic interruption, shorter life and big loss.
3. It is normally composed of N  polar and S polar each or 4 pieces ferrite core or NdFeB magnet, provided NdFeB magnet applied, the OD can smaller. Also there are available with coils and stator core as the magnetic polar.
4. It is normally with internal rotor structure.
DC motor without carbon brush is composed of stator and rotor. It has 6 slots 4 poles, 9 slots 6 poles, 10 slots 8 poles, 12 slots 10 poles etc.
1. It takes electronic commutator, which named driver.
2. Brushless motor can apply the internal rotor or external rotor. The automotion scooter motor is of external rotor.
3. Brushless motor of big power normally applies ex-built controller, and small micro BLDC motor applies in-built controller. For the in-built controller, the lead wire more, positive, negative, CW, CCW control wire, speed regulate wire etc. The positive and negative wire in opposite connection will burn the driver.
4. BLDC motor normally takes NdFeb magnet as the rotor and with controller, the cost is more than DC motor with carbon brush.
